A J Parsons Woodworking in brief: -
Although working mainly in Oak Andy does use other timbers, both hard and softwoods. The timber is usually milled locally and is always of Scottish origin.
The hardwoods are often milled from unsafe or windblown trees or those felled during the harvest of managed sustainable softwood plantations (from where Andys softwood is sourced). These trees in past years often went under the saw for firewood. Today we re-cycle them and they have become more widely considered a by-product of, and not an obstacle to, the harvests.
Douglas Fir and Larch is used untreated (free of chemicals) and coated with a paint or stain system finish.
Non-ferrous or coated fastenings and ironwork are used.
Andy keeps his basic product designs reassuringly simple but his attention to site-specific factors and overall quality are paramount.
He relishes the opportunity to work on commissions be it to a tailored design, one of your own designs or one from scratch.
Delivery and installation can be arranged as can complete projects or contractor recommendations for ground work, footpath building, Interpretative design, panels and leaflets etc.
He has plans to fit out a new workshop in the near future where he hopes to start developing some ideas that have been "rattling around" in his head for "quite sometime".
